Data Use

Evidence has to be authorized, traceable, and used for the right purpose.

FlipForge’s value depends on refusing to treat every record as equally trustworthy.

Authorized discovery

Active listings may be used for discovery and asking-price context when available through authorized sources.

Completed-sale support

Sold evidence supports value only when legally and technically available through an authorized source or supplied by the user and reviewed for card match.

User evidence

Users may enter or import evidence they are permitted to use. FlipForge preserves source and review context.

Identity controls

Year, set, card number, parallel, variation, grader, and grade must match before a record can strongly influence value.

One source of truth

Your evaluations, saved evidence and decisions live in FlipForge’s hosted product, scoped to your account. Imports and exports are for controlled review, never a second source of truth.

No fabricated comps

FlipForge does not create fake sold records or present unsupported values as market evidence.

Where sale prices come from

FlipForge uses authorized sources and appropriately labeled evidence to support sports-card decisions. These may include third-party data providers, marketplace information, independent auction records, and user-entered evidence.

A reported completed sale is not automatically proof that payment settled. FlipForge evaluates card identity, available transaction details, evidence quality, and limitations before using a record to support a decision.

Provider-backed completed-sale evidence is currently suspended in the Private Beta. When suitable evidence is unavailable, FlipForge must communicate that limitation rather than manufacture confidence.

Sale prices in FlipForge are reported sale records: an event that a source represents as a sale.

Reported sale record: a source represents the event as a sale.

Exact-card matched record: the reported sale matches the required card, grade and parallel, so FlipForge can count it.

Payment-confirmed transaction: independent evidence that the buyer paid and the sale settled. FlipForge does not currently establish this. A reported auction close or sold listing is never presented as a payment-confirmed transaction.

Evidence classifications

Accepted: strong exact-card evidence that may support the analysis.

Review: useful context that is incomplete, uncertain, or not strong enough for automatic support.

Rejected: mismatched, duplicate, stale, contradictory, or otherwise unsuitable evidence.

Future services

New APIs, cloud features, account systems, and paid services may require updated disclosures. Material changes will be documented before those features are broadly enabled.
